About Lil’ Steps Wellness Foundation
Lil’ Steps Wellness Foundation was founded in January of 2022 by Lucy Sloan, Owner of Lil’ Steps Wellness Farm, in St. Malo, Manitoba.
The Foundation was created to address two primary areas:
To assist families who are unable to receive mental health services due to financial restraints to receive continuous support they need.
To assist in rescuing animals in need of love and shelter, provide a positive space for them to grow, as they, too, become part of the care of all our animal co-workers at Lil’ Steps Wellness Farm.
Over the years, we have seen first-hand the benefits of animal-assisted therapy for the youth we have had the privilege of working with. The Foundation will have the ability to offer day camps as well as individual counselling services to youth at a subsidized cost. Research shows that the more education and information youth have of mental health and well-being, we lower the risk of developing a mental health disorder in the future. Lil’ Steps Wellness Foundation’s mission is to provide our skill-building and therapeutic programs to as many youths as possible.
We’ve also had the ability to rescue several of our animal co-workers throughout the years. These farm animals receive an abundance of love, comfort, and safety, and they also give us so much more in return. They have taught us many lessons along the way, and they will continue to help children and teens on their own personal journey.
