Shannon Braun

Therapist; B.A., B.Ed., PBDE-C, M.Ed. G&C, C.C.C

Location: Winnipeg

“Sometimes, we just need a place where we can untangle what’s been on our mind, make sense of what we’re feeling, and not have to figure it all out on our own.”

With warmth, compassion, and genuine curiosity, Shannon creates a space where people can slow down, be themselves, and explore what they’re experiencing without fear of judgement.

She welcomes each person as they are, whether they’re looking for a place to untangle what’s been on their mind, understand themselves a little better, or simply have someone alongside

them as they navigate what feels difficult. Shannon works with adolescents, teens, and young adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationships, big emotions, and the many ups and downs that can come with growing up. Her approach is collaborative and person-centered, taking the time to understand each person and what matters to them rather than following a set formula. Together, they can make sense of what’s going on, find ways to cope with what feels difficult, and build on the strengths they already have.

With more than a decade of experience as a teacher, Shannon has spent much of her career supporting young people. She brings that experience, along with a deep appreciation for connection and trust, into her counselling work. She draws from Expressive Arts and Acceptance and Commitment therapies, incorporating creativity and practical tools when they feel like a natural fit for the person she’s working with.

Shannon is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling. She also holds degrees in Psychology and Education, along with additional training in Expressive Arts through the WHEAT Institute and supporting people in times of crisis through ASIST. She is currently working toward certification in Child-Centered Animal-Assisted Therapy, reflecting her love of creativity, connection, and animals.
