How to Stop the Worry from Growing

Lesson Objective

The goal of this session will be to understand the difference between the use of avoidance and healthy distraction with big emotions and feelings brought up by anxiety. We will discuss how avoidance is commonly used to minimize or avoid the tough emotions connected to anxiety. The concept of the ‘frienemy’ will be introduced and the long-term negative consequences to this will be outlined with a better alternative – healthy distraction.
