Hazelnut's Search for Belonging Paperback Book

CA$16.99

Hazelnut the miniature horse has felt lost and alone for a long time. She doesn't understand why she gets the urge to run away from Lil' Steps Farm. Join Hazelnut on her quest to find herself through understanding her family history and learning to be a miniature horse. With the help of her friends & family at the Lil’ farm, Hazelnut finds the true meaning of acceptance, understanding, and belonging.

Hazelnut's Search for Belonging is a story based on true events & told with the help of real-life characters from the farm. This story reflects aspects of generational trauma and grief amongst Indigenous peoples due to colonization, residential schools, the child welfare system, and more. As many families were torn apart, Indigenous ceremonies and ways of life were outlawed, and grief was not properly processed. Furthermore, due to the loss of connection to ceremonies, ways of life, spirit, and relationships to land & other beings, the loss of identity occurred.

In honour of the Indigenous families who have experienced generational trauma, we wish to create a safe place for children to BE and BEcome. A place where they can connect with themselves & with others, to the Earth, and the animals.
