Measha Marlow
Therapist; BA Psych, MACP, CAATP, CCAAT
Measha Marlow is a recent graduate from Yorkville University, completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) with honours. She is also in the process of becoming a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. In 2019, she received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from the University of Winnipeg. While she knew she had a passion for psychology, working with children, and animals, Measha was unsure of her next step until she discovered Animal-Assisted Therapy, which she was immediately drawn to. She went on to achieve the Animal-Assisted Therapy certification through the Animal Behaviour Institute, as well as Child-Centered Animal-Assisted Therapy certification through the Child-Centered Animal-Assisted Therapy Association, which she is in the process of completing. Some of Measha’s additional training includes Mental Health First Aid in 2019, the Suicide Prevention Workshop through Klinic in 2024, and the LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) in April 2025.
Over the past few years, Measha has volunteered for multiple positions, including an animal-assisted reading program through the Winnipeg Humane Society for children experiencing various challenges, including difficulties with reading, confidence, and focus. Measha has 10 years of experience working with children, as well as years of experience as an Inclusion Support Staff, working one-on-one with children who need extra support. In her spare time, Measha enjoys spending time with her dogs and cats, enjoying nature, spending time with family and friends, being with animals, camping, swimming, and exploring her creativity.
Measha believes in a holistic approach to therapy and believes that we heal and grow best when we are taking care of all parts of ourselves, in all areas of our lives. She is currently exploring multiple theoretical orientations to find the best fit for her and her clients. At this time, she is utilising Person-Centred, Strengths-Based, Solution-Focused, and CBT techniques. Measha finds that bringing animals into the therapy setting is truly magical and has unlimited benefits. Her interest lies in helping children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, and behavioural difficulties. She strives to create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable sharing and discussing difficult experiences and goals, where they can work together to create positive change and growth. Measha sees children and teens, and sees clients both in Winnipeg and St Malo at the farm. At the farm in St Malo, Measha offers animal-assisted therapy in addition to regular therapy sessions. She believes all people have the potential to grow, and she hopes to help her clients on their journey to be their best selves.
