  • Mishelle Osmanov; BFA Hon, DKATI (cand.)

Mishelle is an Art Therapy student at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, who deeply believes in the power of creativity as a way to connect, process, and heal.

Her path to art therapy began over ten years ago while working in a children’s hospital where she worked closely alongside psychotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical staff. It’s here that she witnessed the profound impact of compassionate, multidisciplinary care and the crafting of healing in various modalities.

Mishelle’s approach is eclectic and rooted heavily in trauma-informed practice, person-centred art therapy, and humanistic values. Mishelle is deeply process-focused, honouring the unfolding of meaning rather than outcomes. She meets each person exactly where they are, tailoring her work to the individual, the group, and the moment.

Mishelle works with children, youth, adults, families, and older adults. Her practice is shaped by a strong respect for cultural identity, lived experience, and the many ways stories are carried in the body, memory, dreams, and creative expression.

She currently holds a particular focus on working with migrant communities, offering therapy in English, Russian, and Hebrew.
