The Duck Who Was Mean...Sometimes
This is the story of Walter the Duck, also known and referred to as “Mr. Mean Duck” at Lil’ Steps Farm. Walter is mean as mean can be! At least that’s how he comes across to all the other animals on the farm. With the help of Wilbert the Pig, everyone soon discovers that Mr. Mean Duck isn’t so mean after all.
“Readers can use the story to learn and talk about the range of emotions experienced by people...and animals! I like the positive vibes of the story and how caregivers can use the book as a jump-off point to have important conversations on emotions. I was fortunate to meet Walter the Mean Duck when I visited the Lil’ Steps Farm and I am glad to learn that he finally met some farmyard friends.”
- Dr.Sheri-Lynn Skwarchuk, School Psychologist, Early Childhood Professor/Educator
“This heartfelt narrative gives misunderstood children hope and guidance, and most importantly, makes space for compassion and understanding to be cultivated within the classroom or home.” -Tammy Schamuhn, Reg. Psychologist, Co-Founder of The Institute of Child Psychology & Author of “The Parenting Handbook: A Guide Raising Resilient Children”
