Linda Lamoureux
Animal-Assisted Therapist; BSW, RSW
Linda received her Bachelor of Social Work in 2005 and, since then, has worked in an educational environment with students and their families. Her training includes facilitating many programs for children/youth and their families, either individually or in a group setting.
Linda also received training in equine-assisted wellness facilitation in 2018, with the belief that horses bring a whole new level of healing to the therapy process. She has seen the healing power of horses in action and it is Linda’s passion & mission to share that with as many people as possible. Linda is also working towards her Child-Centred Animal Assisted Therapy certification.
Linda believes strongly in a holistic approach to her services and has been learning more about her Indigenous roots to help incorporate the philosophies and teachings into the programs she offers to clients. Using an Action Therapy approach, a client’s experience with Linda starts on your terms, at your pace. Strength-based and solution-focused approaches are also used to help design a mental wellness program just for you.
Linda lost her Mom in January 2021 and was able to be in the room with her as she passed away. This experience left Linda feeling lost and helpless because she didn’t know what more she could have done to help her Mom through the death process.
It was because of this that Linda added another set of skills by becoming an End-of-Life Doula. She has a passion to assist others through their death journey the way they want to go, with dignity and respect. Linda will also work with family members to help them through the death process and their grieving experiences.
Linda believes in laughing out loud and learning something new every day. She also feels that people need to lift each other up and practices doing that every chance she gets.
